Gentlemen I
have finally got the Captain to decide where he wants us to
play this year and the following venues are in various
stages of being booked Tuesday
22nd April- Tyrells
Wood for a ½ day. Meet at 1.30 and then 18 holes followed
by sandwiches and prize giving. Likely cost £50 Thursday
8th May- Coombe Hill
for a full day.
Meet for coffee and Danish followed by 18 holes; in for a
ploughman’s or similar then another 9/18 depending on
fitness levels then in for sandwiches and prize giving.
Likely cost circa £90 Wednesday
9th July- Hankley
Common.
Bacon sarnies;
lunch; 36 holes; sandwiches and prize giving. Likely
cost £95 St.
Georges Hill early November. Full details to be confirmed
nearer the time I
will be looking at arranging another half day one in
September either at Tandridge or
similar. In
order to encourage people to come along we will be giving a
25% discount on the St. Georges day for all those attending
2 or more events (other than St. Georges) throughout the
season. We
need to try and build up numbers again this year or we are
going to lose some of the great venues we have built up over
the years. We need a minimum of 20 people for Hankley
and St. Georges so please try and introduce some new blood
into the Society or bring some guests along. We will not be
charging a membership fee for those who were members up to
last year but will levy a £10 charge for all new members. Jerry
is going to update the web site for 2008 so please visit
regularly (the web site that is …not Jerry!) www.owgs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk Please
could you let me know which of the above you think you will
be alba to make this year in
order that I can gauge numbers. I will be pestering you
throughout the year to attend so why not avoid that
insulting phone call by committing yourself to at least two
events…you know it makes sense!!! I
look forward to seeing you all at Tyrells
for Chris Harland’s drive in…he is apparently awesome at
the moment…….so Mrs. Harland says!! Tony Hon
